Arthritis is an inflammation of the joints.

Sesame oil is mentioned in most traditional herbal medicine texts, e.g. Maimonides, in Hindu and Chinese medical texts; as a factor restoring body suppleness, releasing muscle cramps and increasing the suppleness of joints and hardened cartilage. It is good for both internal and topical application.
The combination of sesame oil with warming etheric oils like wintergreen, ginger and cajuput both restores suppleness to muscles and joints and restores vitality, thus lessening the pain.
